On Thursday, March 9, 2023, an Interfaith Roundtable on Mental Health was held under the aegis of the Ibn Sina Foundation. Over 40 faith, community, and institutional leaders participated in the roundtable.
The primary purpose of this roundtable was to discuss, get inputs, and incorporate suggestions from the maximum leadership on the upcoming Interfaith Behavioral and Mental Health Conference proposed to be held in November 2023.
Mr. Nasruddin Rupani, founder and Chairman of the Ibn Sina Foundation, welcomed and recognized the participants for their support and commitment. He underlined the cruciality of mental health and its education within the communities. Mr. Munir Ibrahim, who chairs the Outreach Advisory Board of Ibn Sina Foundation, gave a presentation and explained the primary proposition behind organizing the mental health conference.
The participants from organizations like NAMI-Greater Houston, Interfaith Ministries, Jewish Family Services, Fort Bend Interfaith Council, Islamic Society of Greater Houston, North American University, and leaders from various faiths and traditions shared their thoughts and concerns on the much-needed mental health services in the community. All the leaders appreciated the endeavor of organizing the Interfaith Behavioral and Mental Health Conference and committed to extend their support to this epochal event.
